EXPERIENCE
Prior to starting her own consulting practice, Laurie worked at LifeScan, a Johnson and Johnson company. For twelve years she led teams that designed and implemented employee, organizational, leadership and sales development programs. One of her accomplishments was leading a team that created the vision, plans and execution strategy for a new Telesales department. This was the first of its kind in the blood glucose monitoring industry and resulted in over ten million dollars in sales its first year. Prior to LifeScan, she was with US Sprint, training and developing their US sales force during a period of great change in telecommunications.
Laurie has done extensive pro-bono work within the California public school system, bringing her expertise in transformational leadership to several schools, administrations and the foundations supporting them. Partnering with Denise Clark Pope from Stanford University’s School of Education, they examined the effects of stress on today’s children and ways to improve health, school engagement and academic integrity. Governor Schwarzenegger, in recognizing outstanding performance, awarded The California Distinguished School Award to two of the schools in 2007 and 2008.
