Most recently Phyllis was V.P of eBusiness for Nortel Networks.
She developed the vision and direction for Nortel to revolutionize
their position in the electronic commerce landscape.
Under her leadership the Nortel Web site launched and ramped to
achieve a run rate of $10 Billion of transactions within one year.
- Phyllis shaped an innovative culture for a global team of 300
people and was instrumental in aligning an organization of 90,000
people to adopt the web strategy.
- Her accomplishments for this award wining Web site were covered
in Business Week and in a chapter of the book eRadical.
At Bay Networks, Phyllis defined the worldwide distribution
strategy and created all the channel marketing programs. She implemented
a global channel partner alliance program, designed channel launches
covering 78 cities worldwide and reaching over 8000 partners.
- 85% of Bay Networks revenue driven through channels.
- Recruited over 500 qualified partners
- Bay Networks' channel program catapulted from last place to
first place within a year as rated by the VAR Business Report
Card.
Phyllis started up Sun Microsystems of Canada's marketing
organization. She was responsible for all aspects of marketing:
strategic direction, product management, pricing, contracts, advertising,
branding, PR, collateral, events and sales training. Phyllis went
on to heading up Sun’s worldwide channel management team for
Sun’s software platform, Solaris. Phyllis was responsible
for business strategy and development of OEM, Distributor, Reseller
and System Integrator channels.
- Phyllis implemented a new channel strategy for Sun resulting
in a 50% growth of the company's revenues within 2 years.
Phyllis started her career at IBM Canada handling major
account sales .She developed strategies that resulted in major competitive
wins, with her account increasing purchases from $3Million to $20
million. She established the marketing strategy for the personal
computer product line, managing a $43 million dollar business area.
Phyllis earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University,
attended Harvard's President's Class, and studied at Ecole Eurocentre
in Lausanne, Switzerland. Phyllis has extensive international experience,
and is the mother of two wonderful children.
